Canada’s Rachel Homan and John Morris dropped to 3-2 on the Olympic blended doubles curling competitors with a 6-2 loss to Sweden on Saturday.
The loss to Almida de Val and Oskar Eriksson (5-2) snapped Canada’s three-game win streak.
Sweden had steals of 1 within the first and second ends after which scored three within the fourth finish to seize a commanding 5-1 lead.
The Swedes are one of many favourites in Beijing. Eriksson and de Val gained bronze ultimately 12 months’s world championship, whereas Eriksson teamed up with Anna Hasselborg to seize gold on the 2019 worlds.
Morris gained gold with Kaitlyn Lawes when the game made its Olympic debut in 2018 in PyeongChang.
