ED Choice 2022/002/R on geographical zones, cross-border operations and predefined danger evaluation for past visible line of sight operations

The European Union Aviation Security Company (EASA) revealed new and amended procedures and steerage to additional harmonise and implement the EU drone regulation. 

Following the session of NPA 2021-09, EASA analysed and reviewed suggestions obtained from stakeholders and consolidated the ends in the newly revealed ED Choice 2022/002/R.

Particularly, the choice addresses the next:

  • Institution of ‘geographical zones’ figuring out EUROCAE ED 269 as the usual for the frequent distinctive digital format;
  • Revised varieties for the applying and difficulty of operational authorisations within the ‘particular’ class and an in depth description of the method to permit cross-border operations (e.g operations in several EASA member states);
