Kansas Metropolis – Main a coalition of PETA supporters, costumed “chimpanzees” will dump wheelbarrows filled with bananas on the entrance doorstep of Hallmark’s headquarters in response to the corporate’s continued sale of greeting playing cards that includes photos of nice apes carrying costumes or making foolish faces. PETA notes that these photos improve the demand for nice apes as “pets” and hinder conservation efforts by deceptive the general public into believing that chimpanzees—endangered animals—are prevalent in nature.

When:    Thursday, March 17, 12 midday

The place:    Hallmark’s headquarters, E. Pershing Street and E. 25th Avenue, Kansas Metropolis, Missouri

“There’s nothing appeeling about an organization that earnings from the exploitation of endangered nice apes in demeaning costumes and unnatural poses,” says PETA Govt Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is asking on Hallmark to cease producing playing cards that includes animals who must be protected, not ridiculed.”

PETA—whose motto reads, partly, that “animals usually are not ours to make use of for leisure”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.
